The internet’s favourite rizzbot just showed up on Walmart.
Shoppers in the U.S. were surprised this week when a Chinese-made humanoid robot, known as the Unitree G1 or “Rizzbot,” appeared for sale on Walmart’s online marketplace.
The Unitree G1 robot, developed by Hangzhou-based Unitree Robotics, was listed by a third-party seller called Futurology for $21,600 — a significant markup from the model’s $13,500 price tag in China. The higher U.S. price could reflect import tariffs, logistics, or distributor margins.
The unexpected Walmart robot listing was first spotted by X user “alt sammen”, who shared screenshots on October 7. According to the post, the page promised free shipping and estimated delivery by October 13.
“Chinese robot on Walmart b4 American lab, it even ships five it’s completely insane,” the user joked, adding, “American labs aren’t winning at humanoid hardware — they don’t have Walmart Plus!”
While the product page has since been removed, Google searches for “Walmart humanoid robot” or “Walmart Unitree robot” still display cached links. Cybernews has reached out to Walmart for an official comment.
The Futurology vendor behind the listing also sells a Unitree robot dog for $2,399, alongside other tech products and IT equipment on Walmart’s marketplace. Currently, Walmart hosts no other humanoid robots for sale, and the Futurology robot dog appears to be the only non-toy robot available.
Social media users reacted with shock and humor at the idea of buying a Chinese humanoid robot from a major U.S. retailer while American robotics companies continue to test prototypes.
“Tesla Optimus gonna storm the stores in much more time,” one commenter wrote. Another added, “So Figure is worth $40B, but I can’t buy one of their robots. Unitree is worth $5B, and I can buy one on Walmart for $20K. OK.”
Whether known as the Rizzbot or Unitree G1, the brief Walmart appearance shows how rapidly consumer-accessible humanoid robots are moving from labs to online shopping carts.
